Blockhead 38 Fractured Rainbow

Hi Everyone and Happy Blockhead Day!  Can you believe we are at block 38.  This week is my block and it's called Fractured Rainbow.  I live in California and believe me, I could really use a Rainbow : ).  The air quality is getting better, but a few weeks back it was incredibly awful.  I was driving my son to the eye doctor at 1:30 in the afternoon and this  was what it looked like.  NO FILTER.

I designed this block way before Covid and the wildfires.  Little did I know how much I would appreciate being able to go outside and see blue skies.  This block makes me so happy and hopeful and I hope you enjoy making it!  Click HERE to download the pattern.

Also check out how all the the other blockhead designers created their block.

My heart is with you. Those wildfires are awful. I live in CO and we’ve had a couple big ones this year (still going on) but nothing like you’re dealing with. Be safe.

What a pretty and cheerful block. Thank you.
Here in British Columbia we had horrible dirty haze from the smoke from the fires in Washington, Oregon and California. We couldn't go outside so I can't imagine how bad it was wherever the fires were. I'm glad things are getting better for all 3 states..

I love this block and your fabrics are wonderful! I have a fat quarter bundle I’m using with the Pat Sloan Picnic. I’m making extra blocks to increase my quilt size and I will make your block!! Thank you for your example.

I hope the skies are getting back to blue for you. This morning, here in my area of Southern California , we started with blue skies, now, not so much but I’ve never seen it as bad as you had it. I hope you are able to stay inside where you can breathe. Take care. Thanks for beautiful block. I want to make several like it.

I find the colors in this block so inviting. Reminds me of dishes I had many years ago. I had a wildfire a mile from my house, smoke lingered for ever so long. Be safe. Thank you for this block and your time.

I love these colors and have this fabric. We have been staying in California for over a month. The Tahoe Forest closed and we stayed in the valley with the smoke for awhile. I will be happy to leave soon. This has been the worst year of my 50 years of marriage.

The quilting community will be praying for you. Living in Southern CA we know how bad it can get.
We fortunately have blue skies now and are very grateful. Keep us posted on your status. Thanks for
    the great pattern.

It seems terrible! Thanks for the block pattern. A rainbow is always good!

I can totally relate to the bad air quality as I too live in Northern California where the air quality has been terrible for over two months now. Tonight on my drive home, it was like fog, and the sun setting disappeared behind the smoke long before it went down beyond the mountains in the west.

    Hi,

I'm having trouble downloading your pattern and instructions. I have downloaded all the other blocks and I have not had any trouble before.
I have downloaded other things and my computer seems to be fine. Do you have any suggestions?

    Thank you,
    Deena Justice
